23 SUBMARINES
... visual arts, poetry and performance
23 SUBMARINES was a 2016 project combining poetry, visual arts and performance devised by Icon Theatre and Medway Libraries, supported by LV21 and Medway Arts Development Team.
Sam and Barry were commissioned poets alongside Patience Agbabi, Sarah Hehir, Dan Simpson, and James McKay who wrote poems inspired by the stories of the 23 submarines which were abandoned in the Medway river.
Extracts from the poems were displayed on boards on a poetry trail around Medway.
The poets took part in leading writing workshops and performing their poetry at several events.
Wordsmithery also designed and print managed the souvenir book of the project.
