Sam Hall is a Medway-based comics creator – writing mostly autobiographically inspired and speculative journalism graphic novels and zines. Her first graphic novel ‘My Mind Is Free’ was longlisted in the LDComics Award 2021. Her new comic series ‘Believe In Me’, about Greek Gods stranded in Medway, will be launched at Medway Open Studios.

Cards, books, prints and original art will be available.

Sam will also be running two workshops, suitable for all abilities, see details below. (16+ recommended). Booking required. Limited to 6 places.)

Workshops:
Comic Book Conventions
Weds 16th July, 2pm-3.30pm
This is your chance to have an overview of Sam’s graphic novel creation process, and how it compares to some other creators, then have a chance to start developing your own graphic novel or comic.
You will do several exercises as part of the session.
All materials will be provided.

Your Medway Zine
Saturday 19 July, 9.30am-11am
This is your chance to make a mini-16 page zine, telling your Medway story.
A zine is a great way to practice telling stories visually. You will learn how to fold one sheet of paper into a 16-page zine, then using pens, glue, collage, make a zine which tells any story that you want to!
All materials will be provided.​
