WE LIVE BY THE RIVER
... exploring Rochester in words and walks...
poster_a4.jpg

Our project to inspire writers to explore the Rochester riverside area has been funded by the Rochester Riverside Community Board.

We are currently running an online version of the workshops, please see the website for details.

Our Rochester writing project has three strands;

Writer-in-residence: Barry Fentiman Hall will visit the Rochester area each month for a year and write a poetic response about it.

Writing workshops and walks: we will lead a monthly walk to explore the Rochester area, which will be followed by a writing workshop, where you will be guided through a series of prompts to respond to the walk. Writing by Barry and the workshop attendees will be uploaded to the We live by the river site.

Monthly family-friendly live readings: we will invite writers to The Confluence Sessions - our relaxed way to try out a spoken word event.

Writing workshops and walks:

We will be leading a free monthly walk to explore Rochester, followed by a creative writing workshop. These will be held on a Wednesday. Check the We live by the river website for dates.

The Confluence Sessions:

The Confluence Sessions enable those who are unable to get to a late night poetry show to enjoy some live literature in a relaxed atmosphere that is family-friendly. They are held monthly on a Saturday. Follow us on Facebook, or check The Confluence Sessions page for dates.
