Saturday 19 September 2020 we will be sharing exclusive and never before seen videos and interviews with Wordsmithery writers from 12noon to 7pm. We know you've missed us this last year - so here's a chance to reacquaint yourselves! Plus the launch of The Rosemary McLeish Poetry Prize.
*As a micro-publisher, if you enjoy what we're doing, we'd love it if you could buy some books during the day, but we appreciate times are especially hard for everyone. If you want to support us with a donation to help us continue our wordy work, please use the button below.
At our online celebration of Wordsmithery writers we will be sharing all sorts of never before seen or heard materials with you!
There were live Twitter Q+As, video and audio extracts from plays, and new interviews. We also shared older interviews that you might not have heard before, which you can bookmark and go back to later.
We also launched The Rosemary McLeish Poetry Prize, a prize we will be running every two years, starting next year.
Rosemary McLeish is a poet who Wordsmithery was proud to have published 2 books by, I am a field, and Defragmentation. Rosemary was an immensely talented writer and artist who only started concentrating on her writing in the latter years of her life.
She sadly passed away in August, but we have her poetry and art to remember her by and a new poetry prize in her name which we’ll be launching next year.
Rosemary’s debut collection I am a field was a collection of eclogues – poems about nature, so for the first year of the prize in 2021, we will be inviting people to send us poems inspired by our connections to nature.
Rosemary's husband Richard Cooper talks about the prize below in advance of the official launch.
